Cucumber Cat Craft Classes
Cucumber Cat craft classes offer participants the opportunity to try a variety of craft activities without having to purchase lots of materials and equipment. Where possible, projects use simple techniques and easily obtainable materials to encourage participants to continue crafting in their free time.
Crafts include sewing, card making, macrame, quilling, painting and air-dry clay...and more.
Good for mental health
The benefits of creative activities on mental health are widely documented.
"Crafting ... has been shown to be a natural anti-depressant. Research studies have shown that those suffering from PTSD, ,Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Insomnia and any level of
chronic pain have achieved a reduction in symptoms by incorporating crafts into their lives."

Who are the classes suitable for?
Sessions are suitable for experienced crafters and beginners alike. Most projects can be completed in one session (the main exception is air-dry clay projects which will need to dry before finishing).
Project techniques are demonstrated and, where appropriate, instruction sheets are provided.
Classes work well in social housing schemes and community centres. They are informal and provide lots of opportunities for participants to chat and make friends. Adults of all ages are welcome and classes are limited to 10-12 people.
Who runs the classes?
Classes are run by Cucumber Cat owner Judith.
Judith has always enjoyed making things, encouraged by her mum who never minded the mess! Although having a special interest in sewing (mostly by machine) she enjoys many crafts. After a short Furniture Making course at St Helens College she then gained a BA (Hons) and a MSc in Product Design at Liverpool John Moores University. She taught at LJMU for a while before having a family. She now sells her hand made items at craft fairs. She has been running craft classes since 2017.
